Career planning is one of the most crucial aspect of any person’s life. Choosing a career is not an easy process. Beyond gathering information on factors such as different career options, the eligibility criteria, the premier institutions from where the required qualification for a certain career could be acquired, variables such as attitudes, abilities and inclinations also play a major role. In today’s competitive environment, the best jobs go to the best informed and the best prepared.
Career Counselling and Guidance Centre has been introduced as a department in G3 School to serve as an eye-opener to the various major career opportunities available to the youth of today at different stages of academic life.
Researchers in psychology claim that we normally live upto only 10 to 15 percent of our potential and that the drive for perfection is a trait exhibited spontaneously by only about 10 to 15 percent of people. Keeping this factor in mind, due emphasis is laid on personal counselling at our centre to improve self-confidence, self-esteem, communication skills, inter-personal skills, conflict resolution techniques, positive reinforcement and goal setting, which enhances the Personality Development and enables individuals to realize their full potential.
A discussion on careers cannot be complete without a review of personality tests, group discussions and interviews which have become an integral part of the selection procedure for professional courses and jobs. Keeping this in mind, all personality tests are being introduced in order to help the students grow holistically.
The senior students will be trained for competitive exams like SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, IIT-JEE and medical entrance exams through special coaching programmes conducted by the members of the staff and the counsellors. The senior students have the option to appear for TOEFL \ SAT examinations, which are the pre-requisites for admission to American Universities. The Library has sufficient number of volumes of reference books to help students to prepare for the above examinations.
